Getting to Bergen for Silvensa 2026
OrgaTeam
Bergen is easily accessible by air, rail and sea. Whether you're looking for the quickest route or prefer a scenic journey through Norway's winter landscape, here are your main travel options.

By Plane

Bergen Airport (BGO) offers direct flights from several European cities, as well as frequent connections through major European airports.

From the airport, you can reach Bergen city centre by light rail (Bybanen) in approximately 45 minutes or by airport express bus (Flybussen) in around 30 minutes.

By Train

Travelling from Oslo? The Bergen Railway is considered one of Europe's most scenic train journeys, taking you across Norway's spectacular mountain landscapes.

The journey takes approximately 7 hours, with several daily departures and overnight options. Bergen railway station is conveniently located in the city centre.

By Ferry

For those travelling from continental Europe, Fjord Line operates a ferry service from Hirtshals in Denmark to Bergen, via Stavanger.

The crossing takes approximately 18 hours, with comfortable cabins available for the overnight journey. The ferry arrives within walking distance of Bergen's city centre.

A Little Travel Tip

Silvensa takes place during the Christmas and New Year holidays, so we recommend booking your travel well in advance. Winter weather can occasionally cause delays, so allow yourself a little extra time.

We look forward to welcoming you to Bergen!
